squee!

Lookit what Joel brought back for me from Australia!!
opal bracelet

Isn't it beautiful? He remembered that I'd once said that after amethysts, opals were my next favorite precious jewel. Also, he got it for me because in July I lost one of the amber stones from the bracelet he gave me for our six-months-of-dating anniversary (I felt, and still feel, pretty horrible about that, even though I know that we'll be able to get it replaced someday. It was the first piece of jewelry he gave me), and until we can get it fixed I didn't have a bracelet to wear. Now I do! And the picture doesn't do justice to it, it's much more beautiful in real life.

I've noticed the same thing about you, actually.....

It's beautiful! My engagement ring is an amethyst as they are my most favourite stones too.

Mine too! I've never been that fond of diamonds but Joel wanted them because he wanted it to look like an engagement ring. It's a happy coincidence that diamonds are my birth stone and amethysts his.

Gorgeous! I'm very fond of opals too.
Whatever you do, keep it dry! They dissolve in water...

Very nice

I saw the photo and the first line, and thought to myself, "Ah! Opals are her second favorite precious stone! How perfect!" and then read the rest of the post. ;) How delightful to have a husband who remembers those things AND thinks of them.
