Well as Christmas Day was a Sunday it wouldn't surprize me if they got a holiday on the Monday to make sure they get the right number of public holidays a tear. I know today (the 27th of December) was a public holiday here (for Boxing Day) but all the shops where open anyway they just have to pay the staff more. ;-)
