One thing though I suspect the broom pudding is just an almond milk thickend with lots of rice flour. Very similar to Erbowel from Plein Delit which is cherries thickened with rice flour. I am pretty sure that is why the recipe calls for the flour to be put through a silk sieve to remove any husks and only permit the finest rice flour not the ground rice which gets stuck in your teeth.
