Happiness is...
Mar. 2nd, 2008 10:10 pm...a productive weekend. (We'll just ignore yesterday). Today I
All of this while watching two movies, Miss Sadie Thompson and Hidalgo (the latter of which I can't really recommend as something to watch while concentrating fiercely on calligraphy, because you miss a lot of the dialogue as it's subtitled!). And I still have time to catch Chicago when it's playing later this evening.
- Made molasses cookies with my carefully hoarded molasses brought back from the US last June. (Joel's comment: "looks like motor oil". You just can't substitute stroop, it isn't the same.)
- Started and finished the very first scroll that I both calligraphed and illuminated. I still need to work on my whitework some; I have trouble holding my brush steady. The calligraphy has my usual token mistake (a terminal S in a non-terminal position). I never make more than one mistake per piece, but I always make that one!
- Completed a skirt started a few weeks ago -- no hurry because I can't wear it until it warms up anyway. Having done so means that every single piece of fabric I've purchased since we moved has been made into the piece of clothing/other item it was intended for when I bought it.
