good food tonight!
May. 2nd, 2008 03:15 pmI just got email confirmation of my dinner reservation for tonight at the Waag.
ctseawa arrived in Amsterdam last night and pretty much his entire visit is planned around where we can eat good food. Two other friends of his and I met him at the airport last night and we ate at an Indian place in Aalsmere, ordering four different dishes and sharing all of them which is an excellent way to try things that you might not otherwise. (I love Indian food but I'm pretty boring and almost always get some variation of lamb and mushrooms. It's so good, why should I get anything else?) When he was visiting two years ago we went to the Waag and that was the first place to go onto our list for making plans for this year. Tomorrow we'll get kebabs at the Dappermarkt for lunch, maybe hit the organic foods market, and then have supper at the Greek place Joel and I discovered awhile ago. Unfortunately, he leaves on Sunday so we don't have any time to cook something at home.
It's just a whirl of gaiety here in Amsterdam, next week
wolverine_nun's husband is here for a business trip, so we're meeting for beers at the Brewerij on t'IJ for drinks on Monday, and then Ælfwynn is coming Thursday through Sunday when we have places to cook Korean, pick out fabric for new garb for me and Joel (which she is going to make, yayay!!!! The first time I haven't made my own garb!!), and geek out on names. And then the Thursday after that I head to Portugal for 5 days to see Joel again.
