Olympics = productivity
Aug. 20th, 2008 07:31 pmThat is, if you don't count the fact that I've been in to the office a sum total of about half an hour this week so far, and don't intend to go in tomorrow or Friday.
I have a couple of backlog scroll assignments for Drachenwald, and had brought my current project along to ESSLLI; I didn't quite finish all I'd planned to, but did get a lot more done on it than if I'd left it at home. I finished it up today. It turned out differently from how I'd originally planned it, given that I'd planned for the big square to have an illuminated "S" for "Simona" (that plan went out the window when I did the lettering and forgot to omit the "S"), and that I'd then planned to have the blue and red diamonds in diagonal rows, rather than vertical. Overall, I'm moderately happy with it; it's gaudy and golden and so will look good on a wall, but I feel like the quality over the entire piece is uneven. It is also by far the most complicated piece I've ever tried, so on that respect I'm relatively pleased.
And I also did up a congratulations card for a cousin who had a baby on Monday.
