We made a half-hearted attempt at doing Thanksgiving dinner today -- Provencal chicken (we can get these great little chickens that weight about 1.5 lbs a piece for 3EUR each, and they're delicious), Joel's favorite mashed potatoes with bacon, spinach, and parmesan (I couldn't find any peccorino at our usual cheese stand at the market), and some rosemary buns. We'd had some sandwiches on really good rosemary bread the other day for lunch so I thought I'd try to find a recipe for some dinner rolls. These aren't quite dinner rolls (a bit too flat), but they were very good. I had only about 2.5 cups of white flour so I topped up the rest with wheat, and also used wheat when kneeding, which was a tasty change.

We had had plans to also have green beans with toasted almonds, and apple pie, but, you know, when you stay up until 2:30am the night before watching Buffy and Angel, and then don't get out of bed until around noon, and it gets dark about four and a half hours later, the day just isn't quite long enough to really put in a lot of time cooking. But we had a yummy dinner as it was, and tomorrow I'll be able to turn the carcasses into some fantastic chicken soup.

In other news, it snowed again today.
