Jan. 12th, 2009 05:32 pmI waited awhile on posting this one because on the day of the event I found out that I'd been given the wrong name/award combination, and they were going to scrape out the original recipient's name and replace it with someone else's. Unfortunately, I don't know who the someone else is, so I've just gone and blanked out the original recipient's name.
This is, I think, my favorite piece of illumination so far:
Two reasons: one, it matches my exemplar much more closely than any other piece I've done:
Two, this was my first real attempt with mixing paints, and the result was total success. All of the colors were a standard base paint mixed with white, except for the orange, which is vermillion mixed with yellow. I had no idea I'd get such a lovely orange from doing so.
