the last time my hair was this short...

March 1987. I'm not quite 5 years old. My sister announces that she's going to start growing her hair out. Almost immediately I make the decision that I need to get my hair cut. SHORT. My mom indulged me by taking me to a hairdresser to get it done (the last time I was ever at a hair dresser, actually):



I remember wanting the stylist to cut it even shorter, but this was the shortest mom would agree to. Dad compared me to David Bowie upon my arrival home.
