8 week check-up
Jan. 4th, 2012 03:43 pmToday Gwen had her 8-week check-up. I was wrong about her weight gain, but not by much. She's up to 4.93kg, so not quite the 5kg I thought). She's also grown 2 cm, to 55cm. Both of these measurements keep her exactly on the "average" growth curve. Her head, on the other hand, has clearly been stuffed full of either nonsense or good learning :), as it's gone from 36.5cm to 39cm! Let's hope she's not getting big-headed about how cute she is...
At this visit she also had her first vaccinations, two shots, one in each thigh. Poor girl screamed and got bright red (this was clearly the worst thing that had ever happened to her), but she calmed down soon after, and dozed in the sling on the way home. She fussed a bit when I put her down for a nap, but she's now been sleeping for more than an hour, and hopefully will for another 1-2 (though maybe not; she had a four hour nap this morning after having been up and down and up and down between 8:15 and 11:15pm last night. I joined her for 2.5 hours, though I'm still tired and am thinking of joining her again...).
And let it hereby be recorded that yesterday was the first day since she was born that I didn't do laundry. (OK, there were a few days while traveling when I didn't, but that was because, e.g., we were on a plane all day. We were also using disposables, so I wasn't generating cloth diapers, so that doesn't really count.)
