is it weird
Nov. 19th, 2012 02:21 pmthat I've taken another 8 hours of vacation today, and yet here I am, sitting in my office? (Granted, I'm not doing anything work related, except for printing off all my travel docs for my trip to St. Andrews later this week.)
I guess I sort of needed to get out of the house. We didn't have the greatest of weekends. Friday and Saturday, Gwen had two hour naps in the afternoon, but woke up from both crying. Yesterday, she slept decently enough in the morning (1.5-1.75 hours, not entirely sure when she woke up, because I went back to sleep myself), and after we had waffles we went out shopping all three of us. We got back only a little bit later than she'd normally go down for her afternoon nap, well within the usual range...and she didn't go to sleep.
She ended up being awake from about 10:45am to until 7:00pm, and by the end of it, things were not pretty. I reached the point where I was just sitting in the chair in her room doing nothing, because it didn't matter whether I did anything or not -- she wouldn't sleep, she wouldn't stop fussing -- so why bother. Eventually Joel came and took over, and I ended up napping myself for two hours.
She definitely made up for things by sleeping 3h15m this morning. And, I have to point out that I don't actually remember the last time that I've had to get up in the middle of the night for her. She still sometimes squawks around 10:00pm, but that's usually just before I've gone to bed myself, and a few times I've heard her either right before or right after Joel has come to bed, and then he takes care of it, but other than that, she's sleeping through without intervention until 6:00-6:30, sometimes even until 7:00. I sure hope this continues.
But anyway, I was fully capable of blogging yesterday, but the idea of heading upstairs to where the computer was was simply insurmountable. Ah well, having missed last Saturday already, it's not that big a deal.
