had a productive day
I've been on a C&I kick the last couple of days. I spent Friday and Saturday working on an assignment from the queen for Pennsic, and today I completed four scrolls. Two are being given out next weekend, so no photos yet, but the other two are backlogs.
The first is one I drew and painted in March, did half of the calligraphy in April, and finished the calligraphy and did the whitework today. The reason for the big gap (and also for the fact that I didn't do any C&I between early April and the end of May) was a fiasco with the calligraphy in the first installment; I ended up with sepia and vermillion bleeding together. It's amazing how much less frustrating something like that becomes when you leave it sit for three months and come back to it. You can hardly see the bleed, especially now that I went over some of it again. So I'm pretty happy with it:
The other is one that got assigned to me this morning, and so I feel very smug about the fact that I started and finished it today, the initial was one that I did for![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
wortschmiedin, so that was done in advance. I like panaches; the badge is easy to draw:
