In the livingroom by the big window overlooking the canal, we have a table set up for the cats, with some blanket or other folded up on top for them to sit on. This winter Slinky discovered that she can squirm her way between the folds and hence have a very warm, rather private place to sleep. The best part is, when she's inside, she can't see Widget (and therefore he doesn't exist). But the worst part is, when she's inside, she can't see Widget. :) And he thinks the best part is that he can stand on the table next to the blanket and stick his paws in the folds and hit at whatever is in there. He thinks this is great fun. Slinky thinks he's horrible. I try to pull him away when I see he's about to entertain himself in such a way, but I'm not always quick enough and he thinks it's so fun!

Horrible little kitten. :)

Why do we always love the mischevious sides of our dear felines? :) Widget will probably do this whenever he can...until Slinky teaches him some manners. You pulling him away before he can do this probably only adds to his fun...the lil devil. Hehehe

Slinky has been trying to teach Widget manners for nigh on 3.5 years now. She still growls and/or hisses every time he gets too near her...and he just couldn't care less. I've never heard him growl or hiss ever, but he always looks so hurt! He just wants to be friends... :)

So your horrible little kitten has invented a game not dissimilar to badger in a bag practised by horrible little children in times past in this country. Not these days of course because most kiddies can't recognise a rabbit let alone a badger! Sigh.

One of my Mom's cats used to crawl up under the bedspread and go to sleep as a lump in the middle of the bed. Sometimes when Mom was calling "Kitty! Kitty!" you would hear the lump on the bed go, "Prrrow?"
