sunshine, here I come!

After some slightly treacherous navigation through a Portuguese webpage with the help of babelfish, I'm now the possessor of plane tickets from Amsterdam to Lisbon, 16 May, and Lisbon to Amsterdam, 20 May. Joel is giving a talk at AAMAS 2008 in Estoril the week before, so I'm joining him the last day of the conference and we're going to take a few days vacation. Portugal in May, the thought of all that sunshine, sounds wonderful! Neither of us have ever been to Portugal, but Estoril is pretty much within walking distance of the beach (I haven't yet ever seen the Atlantic up close, from either side!), and both Estoril and Lisbon have a lot of neat old buildings. So I'm really looking forward to this! Especially right now as I sit in a dark office with the rain beating down on the windows...

I'm still waiting for some conference to be hosted down there so I can get at least part of my expenses reimbursed...I've been promising Guntram for nearly 10 years now to come and visit sometime!
