much happiness

The algorithm I spent all day yesterday struggling over I've turned into an inductive definition and I applied it to an example and it got me the results I want, so that's happiness number 1.
Happiness number 2 is having had cake for breakfast both today and yesterday; yesterday was a colleague's birthday and today a professor, post doc, and Ph.D. student celebrated winning an international prize for one of their papers.
But the biggest happiness of all is that this time tomorrow, I should be on the plane heading to Portugal and to Joel! (And our hotel is just across the street to the west from the big white building at the top of the garden here. Doesn't that look great?)
