Explain this one to me: I appear to be cooking half as much and yet washing twice as many dishes. This whole "preparing meals for one" is getting pretty old.

Only 8 more days to go!

EDIT: I miscounted; it's 8 days to go today, it was 9 last night. He's back a week from tomorrow.

Cook meals for two; eat one that night and have delicious leftovers the next day, or the day after.

It still seems to produce twice as many dishes. Heck, for lunch and supper yesterday and Sunday, I had soup out of the freezer. And still I ended up with a pile of dishes...

Wow...this has been a long haul.

Seeing him every two to two and a half weeks helped tremendously. I am in awe of military wives and husbands who have to do this on a much larger and more emotional scale. (My cousin's wife left for a year+ in Iraq about two weeks after they got married. I don't know how they've done it.)
