Had a long meeting with my supervisor today which culminated in, among other things, his assent that my goal of defending in June/July 2009 is not unrealistic and a put-on-paper (but still not set in stone) deadline of getting my dissertation to the committee by Feb. 28 2009.
I've been mentally preparing for "to the committee by early March next year" for some time now but it's amazing how much more daunting it is to have this actually written down.
