And if we're not lucky, all week. This morning when I dropped Gwen off at daycare, there was a sign that three kids had come down with hand, foot, and mouth disease -- one of whom, I was informed, was from Gwen's room. I thought that Gwen had been exposed -- without getting sick -- while in Tilburg, and so hoped we'd be lucky. This afternoon when I picked her up, she was getting her temperature taken, and not only that, one teacher was bringing the other a new thermometer, because they figured the first one had to be broken, her temperature couldn't be that high with her being her usual peppy and cheerful self! Unfortunately, it wasn't broken, and when I checked it when we got home, it was 40.3C. That, and the fact that she didn't finish her supper and then wanted to sit on my lap and cuddle while I finished mine is pretty good evidence that she's been felled. Luckily, the tylenol suppository did its trick, and by the time we put her to bed her temp was down to 39.0C, so I'm not too worried about her for the night. Even if we're wrong about HFM, she can't go back until she's been fever free for 24 hours, so we'll definitely be home tomorrow.
