I'm currently in Nancy for a workshop affiliated with the Congress on Logic, Methodology, and Philosophy of Science, and while I was giving my talk, a photographer came around and snapped some pictures. I figured it was just the generic conference photographer (lots of bigger conferences have them), but then during the coffee break he approached me and it turns out he's a professional photographer putting together a collection of photographs of researchers, and he wanted to know if I would be interested and had a spare 15 min. for him to take some photos of me for possible inclusion. He wanted to have a variety of ages, sexes, etc., and I guess I nicely fill the niche "young pregnant female" :) (a niche which is not often filled at these conferences, so I'm sure he was thrilled at his luck!). Since it was the coffee break (and since I love posing for photographs...) I said yes. I (naturally) had to fill out a release form with my contact info...I'm hoping that I get to see some of the end result at some point!

That's pretty cool! And you are only pleasantly pregnant at this time, aren't you? Not *hugely* pregnant. I hope to see some pictures, too.

Yup, obvious but not unwieldy. It's amazing the difference of a week; at Leeds, people would say (after I brought it up) "I thought so but I didn't want to mention it", whereas this week people have been spontaneously congratulating me. And let me tell you, my lower back has felt the change too (I think my pelvis has tilted).

Cool!!

Matt and I were caught on photo one day by someone doing photography for promotional stuff for the U -- we were sitting by the columns on one of the classical buildings on the Mall in the sunlight. Never thinking we'd see anything more of it, we were surprised one day to have a friend of ours in the IT department tell us that we were on the cover of an "undergraduate IT" brochure. Sure enough, we went to check it out (a building we never went in -- IT and Architecture don't mix much!) and there we were!! I have a copy. Pretty neat.

I hope you get to see the results someday, and know that even if you don't, that you probably had a blast helping him out! Here's my question after your last post -- were you in maternity clothes, or making due with the band???

I remember that brochure -- I think I may even have a copy of it somewhere.

As for clothes, the answer was neither! I have a couple of stretchy dresses (two of which I've actually worn more often since getting pregnant since before I didn't quite have the bust for the neckline...), and the one I wore yesterday was black with white and tannish paisleys and silver glitter, coming down midthigh with capped sleeves, along with black tights and the heeled boots I bought in Paris. So probably the most dressy that I've been in a couple of months!
