two firsts
Apr. 25th, 2012 12:40 pmI'm currently on the train to Osnabrück, where I'll be giving a 4-day short-course, along with an ex-student of mine, Tarek, on "What is logic -- and what is it good for", to CogSci students at the university there. This is the first time Gwen and I have done international travel without Joel. I told Tarek when he first approached me about this that he'd have to provide childcare for a 5.5 month old, so the lectures I'm giving (two Thurs., Fri., Sat., and one Sun.) are all covered.
The other first is somewhat more exciting. The train car we're in is plenty empty, so I figured I'd let Gwen have her own seat:

This is the first bona-fide sitting without any parental support and no wobbling over that we've gotten! I think the angle of the seatback was just right to help her balance herself.
