life keeps going

I sure fall behind on life when I go to conferences. I've got pages and pages of notes from the sessions I've gone to that I want to type up and post here, and also give a run down of my book haul (quite respectable, I should be able to bring everything home between my bag and Joel's, and not have to have anything mailed to me), but there's also non-conference things that keep happening too. Most excitingly is the dramatic entrance of
frausensei's little girl Saga, born at 30 weeks gestation, just over a week ago; both baby and mom are doing amazingly well for what they went through, it is indeed quite a saga and she's quite the Saga. :)
And then, my bestest friends in the world, Phil and Amy, had their little girl, Margaret Susanne, yesterday! After the medieval feast last night we headed back to our rooms and put Gwen to bed and since it was late I was going to go to bed too, while Joel took his computer back to the main building to get internet, and a few minutes later my phone buzzed; he'd texted me the good news. So of course I couldn't leave it to the morning, I threw on some clothes, grabbed my computer, decided Gwen would be fine in the room by herself for a few minutes, and dashed bare-footed back over to the main hall so I could get enough internet to log on to FB and see photos and send congratulations. How exciting! I'm so happy for them, they've been hoping for this for a long time, and now they've finally got their adorable little girl (who looks just like them. Scarily so; as Phil says, nose-up, she's a copy of him, nose-down, she's a copy of Amy.) Such excitement.
