Raglan T-4
Aug. 11th, 2012 07:16 pmStill got plenty of Olympics on tonight, but I'm not going to be doing any more work today so time to report on the day's doings.
It was a good day! I don't particularly relish being up at 6:00am hemming, but if I had to be up, then it was nice to do sewing that I wouln't have to do later. So I relatively quickly finished up the shirt's hem. Just the cuffs and neckline left to go...
I also found out that Saturday morning 8:00, everyone is at the grocery store -- because they certainly aren't out anywhere else.
After Gwen went to bed, I wrote the text for my final scroll, slotting in places for removing or adding text as needed as calligraphing, since I was doing a hand I don't normally do in a nib size I don't normally do and with line spacing I don't normally do, and hence I had no real idea how much space any given text would take out. I ended up with something that fits the space I had basically perfectly, and thought some had to be trimmed from what I started with, what I was left with still sounds good (I hope).
Joel comes home tomorrow. I haven't gotten nearly as much done as I could have -- I've spent a heck of a lot of time just sitting and reading or futsing on the computer when I could have been sewing or drawing or calligraphing or painting -- but I've gotten a heck of a lot more done than I normally do, so I'm happy.
