I just threw away almost as much greens as I have remaining carrots, and that seems like such a waste. Are carrot tops any good for cooking with? Or in salads?
I seem to recall from my childhood that if you fill a glass almost brimful with water, and stick three toothpicks into the carrot top evenly spaced and at upward angles so that you can rest the toothpicks on the edge of the glass and suspend the cut edge of the carrot top in the water (refilling it as it evaporates, of course), you can grow more carrots.
