like this was a surprise
Sep. 14th, 2007 03:23 pmFollowing everyone else who's done the meme (hey, it's Friday):
"Career Matchmaker" questionnaire:
1. Professor [But we knew this already]
2. Coach [Ignoring the fact that I have no sports skills whatsoever...]
3. Foreign Language Instructor
4. ESL Teacher
5. Lobbyist [?? One of the few things I checked "strongly dislike" for was "selling things/getting money out of people." Why would this make me a good lobbyist??]
6. Editor
7. Technical Writer
8. Computer Trainer
9. Criminologist
10. Medical Secretary
11. Elementary School Teacher
12. High School Teacher
13. Special Education Teacher
14. Teacher Assistant [I'm seeing a trend here...]
15. Fitness Instructor
16. Curator [This should've been MUCH farther up the list]
17. Legal Secretary
18. Early Childhood Educator
19. Association Manager
20. Anthropologist
21. Personal Trainer [See #2 above]
22. Principal
23. Postal Clerk [one of my dream jobs when I was a kid. The stamps! The names! The chance to walk around outside!]
24. Political Aide
25. Market Research Analyst
26. Communications Specialist
27. Activist [how is this a career??]
28. Public Policy Analyst
29. Writer
30. Health Records Professional
31. Print Journalist
32. Music Teacher / Instructor [Ignoring the fact that I have no musical skill whatsoever...]
33. Critic [What, you mean I can get paid for this? :P]
34. Translator [Already am...]
35. Diving Instructor [Ignoring the fact that I cannot swim...]
36. Paralegal
37. Administrative Assistant
38. Driving Instructor
39. School Counselor
40. Office Manager
Bizarrely, when I updated my results with the fact that I have a university degree, one of the new career suggestions that came up was 36. Clergy.

Date: 2007-09-14 08:27 pm (UTC)I'm not surprised since "activist," "political aide" and "public policy analyst" are also on your list.
Or maybe I'm just naive ... (how'd that stay intact after two years in Washington?).
(Now Market Research Analyst - how can someone who hates sales do that?)
